All about Me

  So our very first theme for starting school I went with All about Me. I thought it would be perfect. Give me a chance to feel out how I wanted school to be ran here in the home and then Alexa would really have a chance to like school since this whole week was about her! She enjoyed school so much that I actually had to explain to her that school can't not be from morning till night, and that when school is done mommy needs time to get the house cleaned and so forth. So first week.. Success!!

• I let Alexa pick out 3 to 4 books that she wanted to read

• Sing ABC slow and fast
• Play Ring around the Rosy

Language Activities

•  Look at me - draw a self portrait by looking in the mirror
• Practice writing letter Aa
• Practice writing number four, 4
• All about me Booklet  

Fine Motor

• Play dough - make yourself and things you like
• Decorate name for portfolio
• Make portfolio to keep art work in
• Free Painting or Drawing - Encourage to make things she likes

 Learning Games

• Play House with babies
• 'Need Knees' try to walk and climb stairs without bending knees. 
• Take weight and height measurements - record in All about Me booklet
• Play Fish Game - go fishing for letters to make words
• Make Brownies - measurements, etc. 

Gross Motor

• Play Kickball
• Play Soccer
• Shape Bouncing - Take shapes on floor with painters tape and bounce, march, skip, from shape   to shape and call out what shape it is. 
• Bike Ride to park and play
• Walk to park and play
